Practical

News Article Writing

Learn to craft professional news articles using AI as your writing assistant. Students will go through the complete process from prompt creation to final article.

a Writing Prompt to Get the Article

Students learn to create effective prompts for news articles. They'll understand how to structure prompts with context, topic, tone, and format requirements.

Write a news article about a local school's science fair. The article should be: - 300-400 words - Written in a professional journalistic tone - Include quotes from students and teachers - Focus on innovative projects and student achievements - Suitable for a school newsletter
b Using Proprietary Tool for Prompt Feedback

Students use our proprietary prompt evaluation tool to get instant feedback on their prompts. The tool analyzes clarity, specificity, and effectiveness.

c Improve the Prompt and Try Again

Based on feedback, students refine their prompts. They learn to add missing context, clarify instructions, and specify output format for better results.

Write a news article about a local school's annual science fair held on March 15, 2025. The article should be: - 350-400 words - Written in a professional, engaging journalistic tone - Include at least 2 quotes from participating students (ages 12-15) - Include 1 quote from the science teacher coordinator - Highlight 3 innovative projects: renewable energy models, robotics, and environmental solutions - Emphasize student creativity and problem-solving skills - End with information about next year's fair - Format: headline, byline, lead paragraph, body paragraphs, conclusion
d Finishing the Article

Students review the AI-generated article, make edits, add personal touches, and finalize their work. They learn to use AI as a starting point, not the final product.

Creative

Lyrics Writing

Master the art of songwriting with AI. Students learn to identify key elements of great songs and use AI to craft original lyrics step by step.

a Identify Elements of Great Songs

Students brainstorm and identify what makes a song great: theme, emotion, rhyme scheme, structure (verse-chorus-verse), rhythm, and storytelling elements.

b Find Options for Each Element

For each element identified, students explore different options. For example: themes (friendship, adventure, dreams), emotions (joyful, nostalgic, inspiring), rhyme schemes (AABB, ABAB, ABCB).

c Select Options and Create Prompt

Students make creative choices and combine them into a comprehensive prompt for AI lyric generation.

Write song lyrics with the following specifications: - Theme: Friendship and adventure - Emotion: Upbeat and inspiring - Genre: Pop/Rock - Structure: Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, Chorus, Bridge, Final Chorus - Rhyme scheme: AABB for verses, AAAA for chorus - Length: 3-4 minutes (approximately 200-250 words) - Target audience: Teenagers (ages 13-17) - Message: Celebrate friendship and taking on challenges together - Include: Metaphors about journey and discovery - Tone: Energetic and positive
d Using Proprietary Tool for Prompt Feedback

Students get feedback on their lyric prompts, ensuring all creative elements are well-defined and the prompt will generate quality lyrics.

e Improve the Prompt and Try Again

Based on feedback, students refine their prompts, add more specific details about style, imagery, and musical elements.

f Finish the Lyrics

Students review AI-generated lyrics, edit for flow and personal expression, add their own lines, and create a final polished version ready for performance.

Storytelling

Comic Script Writing

Create engaging comic scripts with AI assistance. Students learn the fundamentals of visual storytelling, dialogue writing, and panel structure.

Step 1 Understanding Comic Structure

Students learn about comic script format: panels, dialogue bubbles, narration boxes, action lines, and visual descriptions. They understand how to balance text and visuals.

Step 2 Creating Characters and Plot

Students develop their comic concept: main characters, setting, conflict, and story arc. They use AI to brainstorm character traits, backstories, and plot points.

Help me create a comic script for a 6-panel story. Requirements: - Genre: Superhero/Adventure - Main character: A teenage student who discovers they have the power to control plants - Setting: Modern high school and nearby park - Conflict: A mysterious force is causing plants to grow out of control - Tone: Light-hearted with moments of action - Length: 6 panels - Dialogue style: Natural, age-appropriate for teens - Include: Character introductions, conflict setup, action sequence, resolution hint
Step 3 Writing Panel-by-Panel Script

Students write detailed scripts for each panel, including visual descriptions, character actions, dialogue, and sound effects. They learn to show, not tell, through visuals.

Step 4 Refining Dialogue and Pacing

With mentor guidance, students refine their dialogue for natural flow, adjust pacing between panels, and ensure the story reads smoothly. They learn to balance action and dialogue.

Step 5 Final Script Review

Students review their complete comic script, make final edits, and prepare it for potential illustration. They present their scripts to peers for feedback.
